NTC Systems Engineer
Job Title: NTC Systems Engineer Directorate: Missions Salary: $48,240 Location: Richmond VA Reports to: David Wharton Closing date: 27 July 2008
Systems Engineer. Fabricate, modify, troubleshoot, diagnose, calibrate and repair electronic equipment at the component level using electrical and electronic schematics, block diagrams and wiring diagrams. Repairs base, mobile and portable radio stations and support equipment. Use a variety of testing devices. Operates radios, computers, and other office equipment as required. Provides advice and assistance to customers. Accomplishes assigned tasks with minimal direct supervision.
The ideal Candidate will posses:
- A bachelor’s degree (preferably in Communications Technology or Electrical Engineering) with two years verifiable experience in radio communication system design or maintenance, a 2-year degree/certificate in electronics or communications technology plus five years verifiable experience, or ten years verifiable radio communication system design or maintenance work experience is required.
- Must have strong working knowledge of electronic theory, including troubleshooting, calibration, test procedures, circuit analysis and repair of electronic equipment.
- Must have strong working knowledge of HF-SSB, VHF-AM, VHF-FM, UHF-AM and UHF-FM radio communications equipment; computers and peripheral equipment and mechanical repair techniques.
- Must have demonstrated skills in the Microsoft Office Suite including strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- The position requires a high level of interpersonal skills including poise, tact, and diplomacy, ability to work independently and also requires initiative, and the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals from across the country.
- Ability to work independently and travel on short notice.
- Must possess or have the ability to possess a TOP SECRET Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Information Assurance Awareness Training certificate is required.
