Wing Financial Analyst (Part Time)
Job Title: Wing Financial Analyst (Part Time) Directorate: Financial Management Pay Rate: $29.00/hr ($33.00/hr with CPA) Reports to: CFO Closing date: 13 July 2008
Wing Financial Analyst (Part Time) Manages a comprehensive program of financial analysis and reporting within assigned Regions and Wings in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and CFR Part 215, and OMB A-122 (Cost Principles) and A-133 (Single Audit Act). Reviews Wing financial statements to ensure reporting is timely, accurate and consistent. Assists with annual financial statement adjusting entries, reviews financial information and consolidates reporting for national audit. Responsible for preparing and consolidating the annual work papers that support accuracy of financial statements. Prepares financial data for inclusion in the annual IRS Form 990 (Return of Organizations Exempt from Income Tax) and submits to NHQ/FM. Identifies and reports on any internal control weaknesses observed during Region and Wing visits and assists Wing Financial Officers in setting up internal control procedures. Responsible for training Wing Finance Officers on accounting procedures and in the utilization of QuickBooks Pro accounting software and the functionality of e-Accounting. The Wing Financial Analyst is responsible for providing training Wing and Region commanders and wing finance committees in financial management.
The ideal candidate will posses:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, or closely related business field with concentration in accounting, and at least five years professional accounting experience.
- Verifiable experience in financial statement preparation, account analysis, and auditing.
- Ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles to the general ledger.
- Demonstrated skills in the Microsoft Office Suite including strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as QuickBooks.
- Ability to work independently and travel on short notice.
- Valid drivers’ license.
