Greetings,
Patron membership is a great way to begin your CAP experience!
I invite you to join me in the National Patron Squadron, NHQ 996. As a Civil Air Patrol member in an at-large unit, your $35 annual dues will be contributing to the many activities and programs of CAP.
People join the National Patron Squadron for many reasons -- former members, current members, corporate supporters, parents and community leaders who respect and wish to support the humanitarian missions, emergency response efforts and cadet programs of Civil Air Patrol.
While there are no organized activities or duty assignments, the National Patron Squadron members receive the Civil Air Patrol Volunteer Magazine, discounts and benefits offered to all members, website access to their membership information, the CAP News online, CAP Channel (our media link) and much more available to members only online.
At a future time, if the member chooses to apply to transfer to an active unit, the service time in the Patron unit will transfer also. Patron members often attend national and wing conferences and may visit the local unit for social events. Many members support CAP as Patrons throughout the years and others move from Patron membership to active membership by transferring to a local unit.
