The A. Scott Crossfield Aerospace Education Teacher of the Year Award

The A. Scott Crossfield Aerospace Education Teacher of the Year Award will now be administered by the National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF). This award was founded by the late, legendary aviator, Scott Crossfield, in 1986. The award had been presented at the Civil Air Patrol sponsored National Conference on Aviation and Space Education (NCASE) event for the past 20 years. However, since NCASE has become a biannual event, the Crossfield family felt the award needed to be moved to an annual venue. Mr. Crossfield's inspiration for this award came from the memory of the educators who influenced his life, and he wanted to reward excellence in classroom aerospace education. Mr. Crossfield and the Crossfield family very much appreciated the efforts made by Civil Air Patrol to involve and excite educators in aerospace education. Therefore, this award will continue to recognize outstanding aerospace educators and will be part of the NAHF's SkyReach education initiative.
